After completing an apprenticeship on a large country estate (20 acres including ornamental borders, vegetable gardens, orchard and woodland) and studying the RHS General and Advanced Certificates, I started my own garden maintenance and landscaping business. Some interesting projects later, including setting up a community allotment and the design and build of a sensory garden, I moved into education. As a qualified Lecturer in Horticulture, I have spent the last 15 years teaching in further and higher education. I am an experienced programme leader, specialising in curriculum design. In addition, I am a qualified Independent End Point Assessor.
Most recently I have completed an MA in Garden and Landscape History. It was this that gave me the opportunity to explore a whole host of design periods and philosophies and, sparked my interest in Land Art.
